Has the MDCAT syllabus changed for 2026?

No. PMDC has confirmed that the MDCAT 2026 syllabus is the same as the 2025 syllabus. There is no new subject and no chapter shift, which means your recent past papers, notes and topic-wise practice all still apply directly. A syllabus can still receive a late correction, so always download the latest official PDF from pmdc.pk and treat it as the final word over any third-party list, including this one. How the latest syllabus is divided

The paper has 180 MCQs spread across five subjects, and the split decides where your hours go:

• Biology: 16 chapters, 81 MCQs, about 45 percent
• Chemistry: 20 chapters, 45 MCQs, about 25 percent
• Physics: 16 chapters, 36 MCQs, about 20 percent
• English: 6 areas, 9 MCQs, about 5 percent
• Logical Reasoning: 6 areas, 9 MCQs, about 5 percent

That is 64 chapters and 180 marks. Biology and Chemistry together are 126 marks, so building those two well puts most of the paper in your hands.

Biology in the latest syllabus

Biology is the heart of the paper. The 16 units cover biological molecules, enzymes, the cell and the cell membrane, bioenergetics covering photosynthesis and respiration, prokaryotes and the variety of life, acellular life, kingdom diversity, coordination and control, circulation, immunity, gaseous exchange, digestion, homeostasis, support and movement, reproduction, and inheritance with biotechnology and evolution. Because Biology is 81 marks, treat it as your number one subject and practise it daily in the Biology Question Bank.

Chemistry in the latest syllabus

Chemistry has the most chapters at 20, across physical, inorganic and organic chemistry. The main areas include fundamental concepts and stoichiometry, atomic structure, gases, liquids and solids, chemical equilibrium, reaction kinetics, thermochemistry, electrochemistry, solutions, chemical bonding, the s and p block, transition elements, and the organic chapters of hydrocarbons, alkyl halides, alcohols, aldehydes and ketones, carboxylic acids and macromolecules. Physics in the latest syllabus

Physics carries 36 marks across 16 units, including measurements, vectors, force and motion, work and energy, rotational and circular motion, oscillations, waves, thermodynamics, electrostatics, current electricity, electromagnetism, electromagnetic induction, electronics, modern physics, atomic spectra and nuclear physics. Physics is very winnable once you build a clean formula sheet per chapter and solve numericals in the Physics Question Bank.

English and Logical Reasoning

English covers practical grammar and usage, tenses, sentence structure, prepositions, error correction, vocabulary and short comprehension, while Logical Reasoning covers logical problems, critical thinking, sequences and analogies. They are 9 marks each, small but easy, so secure them with short sessions in English and Logical Reasoning.

How to study the latest syllabus

Do not try to read all 64 chapters at once. Pick one or two chapters a day, read the concept once, then immediately practise MCQs on that chapter before moving on.
